In November 2012 I left an amazing bunch of people and a comfortable job at VCCP to start freelancing. Another ex-VCCP’er Sarah Bainbridge said come and help out at TBG Digital. They were busy building Facebook pages in the run up to Christmas.

I’m posting about another bit of simple jQuery. It’s a double whammy of crossfading feature images and a carousel of information boxes. These kinda things are popular at the moment so here it is :-)
Dino from Web Theoria called one day and said he needed a catalogue made in Flash. “Why Flash?” I asked. “It would be much better if this was HTML. Your PHP guy will find it easier to implement and it would be much more user friendly.” With Dino onboard I mocked-up the catalogue page to his design. “From now on,” I said, “Use HTML, CSS and JavaScript for your interactive web pages.” Flash is for … other things.
I’m excited. Next month I’m going to watch the fencing at the London 2012 Olympics. In 2006 I joined a fencing club where I met Priscille and Claire. When they decided to start up there own club I had to join. The French Fencing Factory is a fun, inclusive place to fence and the members super friendly. Oh, and Priscille is probably the Frenchest person in England. If you fancy a spot of épée do look them up. :-)
Bringing out my girly side
Yes really! This site was designed by a boy! An accessories brand for young teenage girls. Get your nails done, put your false lashes on and check it out ;-).
Somerfield merged with Co-op supermarket in 2009, and was phased out. I had the pleasure of doing the last design refresh. The homepage was rebuilt from scratch. Additional pages were revamped without changing any of the content. Only the wrapper and CSS were replaced.
When my friends at Web Theoria called and said “We are going to make a website is for a company selling a very large property in the heart of Nicosia business center. Are you interested and are there any cool things you can do in HTML 5?” Well the answer to both of those questions is yes.
When Energizer asked Them London for a Europe wide website our small team divided up the tasks. The Back-end Developer Fed set to work on the multilingual CMS and set about creating a new design.
I last built my personal website while looking for a new job back in 2006! I created it in Flash and ActionScript 2 with dynamic ‘projects’ for easy updates using XML. Once I started at VCCP it was neglected, a few updates here and there. It’s now looking old. Mostly because it is in Flash!!!
